Field service engineer

THE JOB

  • You will be responsible for installation, service and maintenance of machines located at our customers' international sites. Partly you can dial in via your laptop and solve malfunctions but mostly you will travel to the customer on site.
  • After installation of the sorting machine, you give technical training to the customer to learn how to use the machine, set it up and fix first-line faults. You also advise them on how best to maintain the machines.
  • You share your field experiences regarding bottlenecks with machines and how to solve them with your Service and Engineering colleagues.
  • You are also responsible for the administrative processing of the work performed and draft work instructions where necessary.
  • You report to the service manager.

 

YOUR PROFILE 

  • Work location: Hasselt, Belgium (but our customers are international)
  • Experience level: (first) experience as a (service) technician. Experience with a machine builder is a plus.
  • Diploma: technical diploma (mechanical-electrical) or equivalent through work experience
  • Hours: flexible schedule in day shift (with travel arrangement)
  • Travel frequency: about 140 days/year in the field at our international customers. Travel experience is therefore also a must
  • Languages: Dutch and English (excellent)
  • PC knowledge: working with Windows. Knowledge of networks is an asset
  • Technical knowledge: a forklift certificate and/or welding diploma is a great asset. You are already in possession of a VCA certificate or are willing to follow this training. 
  • Person: communicative and customer-oriented, analytical, problem-solving, working independently, flexible and always keeping calm in stressful situations
